CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT IN MASTERS COURSE
“ BUSINESS COMMUNICATION”


ISCEM – Instituto Superior de Comunicação Empresarial,  established  in Praça do Principe Real, 27, 1250 – 184, Lisbon, Portugal, represented by  Regina Campos Moreira, Director ,
of the one part, and
LUMSA – Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta, established in via della Traspontina 21, 00193, Rome, Italy, represented by Giuseppe dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, Rector recognized partner institutions of the consortium (the “Partners”) of the other part.

"Double Degree In Business Communication"

The programme proposed is a two-year Post-Graduate Course in MASTER in Business Communication (MBCOM) corresponding to 120 ECTS credits and suitable for graduates with Bachelor's degree, University diploma, Diploma of higher educational institution or additional studies approved by the Admission Committee. The program is developed and implemented within the framework of the Consortium made up of two partner Universities, LUMSA (Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta), ISCEM  (Instituto Superior de Comunicação Empresarial) and c. Each university will contribute with its specific knowledge area: LUMSA will make at disposal its expertise in Communication and Social Sciences, ISCEM will provide to share its knowledge in Marketing and Advertising area.
Our purpose is to create a Joint Post-Graduate Degree in Business Communication, systematizing partners’ knowledge in this area, with the aim to create an European Degree focused on themes of Communication and Management. Business Communication is nowadays one of the main organizational areas, and Europe needs young “knowledge workers” specialized on this issue.

We propose a Joint Degree of two years; during this first year, students will learn the master issues of Communication, Management and Marketing, aiming to built an high theoretical framework in this area. The purpose of the MBCOM is to acquire an in-depth knowledge about the specialized field of "Business Communication" and to become familiar with communication management techniques and strategies required for successful planning, implementation and evaluation of strategic integrate communication plans, communication campaigns and management of internal and external organizational communication flows, marketing techniques and organizational strategies, business management and financing.
A comprehensive examination of human, fiscal, legal, and logistical issues associated with communication management will be presented as well as problem solving around these issues. Our aim in this project is to train students in depth on Business Communication field, creating professional that could became future communication manager in Europe; students will experiment different fields of project and application of Business Communication in companies, preparing themselves to became future professional in Europe. They will improve their experience in business communication not only trough lessons, but also trough project works and seminars focused on research training.  The Joint Degree thesis will realized in at least in two languages, allowing students to produce an international work.
Business Communication represents a new issue in the general organizational business, moreover for EU Countries and for companies that desire to became international. We imagine the future of our students, in  traveling around Europe and Third Countries, offering their knowledge and expertise to little, medium and multinational companies in different Countries.

Communication became a central expertise to manage in organizations, especially in an international framework as the world work became in the last ten years. In the global economy, and in the field of free exchange of goods and services trough different Countries, with different languages, culture and economic structure, the figure of the Communication Manager or the Communication Consultant is fundamental for the general developing of companies.
Nowadays, an European Joint Degree in Business Communication is not developed in EU Countries. Our proposal is focused on create an inter-university and inter-organizational Net of students, professors, professionals and consultants, whose contribution will built our future Country. In the European and International level, Business Communication Experts are very search for, because of their strategic importance in the international area; our aim is to train students to became the professionals of the future, in order to Europe became an Excellent Centre of Training in Business Communication field.

The students will also perform these activities in cooperation with other students where many are European, thereby bringing the cross-cultural benefits into the actual workplace and also laying the foundation for future important networks and professional links.
The students will also experience various different European cultures, climates and nature in the countries represented by the institutions in the consortium. This will give them the pan-European view as well as the local national view, thereby providing an understanding of the bridges being built in Europe among our different cultures and languages
By focusing on providing top-level students with top-level education at Master’s level, we foresee that we are contributing to the development of European research competitiveness at the forefront of this area. Research cooperation will be boosted among the institutions in the consortium as well as among the institutions of the consortium and third country institutions.
